Polish MMA leader KSW was in action on Saturday, setting up shop at the Werk Arena in Třinec, Czech Republic for KSW 87.

Stosic, who fought for heavyweight gold last year but came up short against the dominant Phil De Fries, was 2-1 since that encounter and looking to work his way back to title contention. Matinek meanwhile was 1-1 in the company and hoping the bounce back from a recent loss.

KSW was back in action on Saturday, with a bantamweight title fight capping off the night at KSW 86.

That fight was both the fourth meeting between champ Jakub Wiklacz and ex-champ Sebastian Przybysz, and an immediate rematch of sorts — for Wiklacz anyway.

The pair had first met under the ACB banner in 2017, with Wiklacz taking home a unanimous decision win. With both later employed by KSW, they met again in 2020, where Przybysz finished his rival with body shots.

Last December, with Przybysz holding gold, the pair met in a rubber match to what was then a trilogy, with Wiklacz winning the title care of a split decision win. That was not to be the end of the rivalry, however— Przybysz went on to win his next two fights. Wiklacz, meanwhile, had been expected to defend his title this past July against Werlleson Martins — who apparently thought the bout was at featherweight. Not really, but he missed weight by over ten pounds; the title was off the line as a result, and Wiklacz turned down a catchweight non-title bout.

Instead, his first fight since winning the KSW bantamweight championship against Przybysz was once again against Sebastian Przybysz.

KSW 86 kicks off at 1PM ET on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Hala Orbita in Wroclaw, Poland, and streams live via KSWTV.com. Full results can be found below.

Poland’s KSW returned to action on Saturday, August 19, 2023 with KSW 85 going down in Nowy Sacz, Poland — hometown of interim featherweight champion Robert Ruchala.

While fighting at home in the main event, Ruchala would almost certainly be the underdog against double-champ Salahdine Parnasse. Having become one of KSW’s biggest stars to date, Parnasse, a French standout with a 17-1 record, had picked up the promotion’s vacant lightweight strap in his last outing.

While Salahdine was busy moonlighting at lightweight, meanwhile, Ruchala had improved his unbeaten record to 9-0 with a fifth round knockout of Lom-Ali Eskijew last time out. That had captured Ruchala interim gold.

Parnasse was now returning to his original 145lb weight class to defend that title for the second time in his current reign.

KSW 85 streams live on KSWTV.com kicking off at 1PM ET. Full results from the event can be found below.

KSW 85: Parnasse vs. Ruchala Results

One of the most successful heavyweights outside of the UFC returned to action on Saturday at KSW 84 in Gdynia, Poland.

Phil De Fries was nearly an afterthought in the heavyweight division after a brief UFC stint from 2011 to 2013 saw him go 2-3 with that promotion. But after overcoming severe anxiety, the British star has come storming back, winning eleven straight fights — capturing the KSW heavyweight title and defending it an inspiring eight times.

Looking to extend that title defense streak to nine, De Fries was set tot take on Poland’s own Szymon Bajor at KSW 84 on Friday. Bajor had won his last four fights, and had competed for the likes of RIZIN Fighting Federation and the PFL.

Also in action on Saturday, UFC vet Darko Stosic was paired up with Stefan Vojcak, while in the co-main event, former KSW bantamweight champ Sebastian Przybysz took on Islam Djabrailov.

Full results from KSW 84, which takes place at the Polsat Plus Arena in Gdynia, Poland, can be found below. The card airs live via KSWTV.com kicking off at 1:00PM ET.

Boxers have taken a lot of heat over the years for being timid about stepping into the cage, ever since things went disastrously poorly for James Toney in a high-profile match-up with Randy Couture.

With the exception of a handful of women’s boxing stars (including Holly Holm, Amanda Serrano, Heather Hardy, and Claressa Shields), nary a boxer has stepped into the cage despite a constant stream of traffic going the other way. Male boxers especially have declined to make the jump to MMA — but former WBO Cruiserweight champ Krzysztof Głowacki is the exception to that rule, and he both showed up and showed out at KSW Colosseum 2 on Saturday.

The event took place at the PGE Narodowy, with 50,000 fans reportedly in attendance.

Despite being taken down and mounted in the opening round of his fight with Patryk Tołkaczewski, Glowacki proved he’s a dangerous striker even off his back. While mounted, Glowacki covered up, surviving a bit of ground n’ pound before unleashing a perfectly placed left hand that landed flush on the chin.

Tołkaczewski slumped forward, already out as Glowacki reversed position and landed one more strike before the ref dove in. Check out the full scene below.

That’s an impressive debut for the boxer, who put together a 32-4 record in the ring.

The biggest card of the year for any promotion arrived on Saturday in Warsaw, Poland with KSW Colosseum 2 unfolding before 50,000 fans at the PGE Narodowy stadium.

The same venue that housed the original KSW Colosseum event in 2017, breaking European attendance records for a mixed martial arts event, again welcomed some of the promotion’s biggest stars in Mamed Khalidov and Mariusz Pudzianowski.

Khalidov found himself in the evening’s main event, in a non-title fight rubber match with British rival Scott Askham. In the co-feature, meanwhile, rising talent Salahdine Parnasse, already having claimed featherweight gold and an interim lightweight title, looked to unify the belts against lightweight champ Marian Ziolkowski.

And what would any big KSW card be without strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski, one of the faces of the promotion for years? He was paired up with boxer-turned-mixed martial artist Artur Szpilka.

Full results from KSW Colosseum 2 can be found below. The card gets underway at 1PM ET on Saturday, June 3, 2023, streaming live on KSWTV.com.

KSW 82 took place at the ATM Studio in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, May 13, 2023, with a pair of highly ranked welterweights throwing down in the card’s main event.

That fight found Brian Hooi paired up against Andrzej Grzebyk, with both fighters entering the night off single wins, looking to get a win streak going.

Hooi had last competed in February, where he knocked out Jivko Stoimenov. Overall, the Dutch fighter, who had made appearances for Brave CF, M-1, and Bellator MMA in the past, was 2-1 under the KSW banner.

With a 3-3 record inside the KSW cage, Andrzej Grzebyk was coming off a win against Oton Jasse this past December in which he dropped the Brazilian with a body shot.

From 2016 to 2020, Grzebyk had gone on a nine-fight win streak that seemingly had him lined up for some big things after winning two titles in FEN, until a rough patch saw him go 1-3 prior to the Jasse fight.

The co-main event of KSW 82 featured ex-champ Sebastian Przybysz paired up in a bantamweight bout with incoming Czech veteran Filip Macek.

Poland’s KSW was in action on Saturday, with the promotion’s vacant 170lb title on the line in the main event of KSW 81.

The undefeated Adrian Bartosinski, a perfect 13-0 to start the night, threw down in that welterweight headliner with Artur Szczepaniak, a fellow Polish standout with just a single loss on his professional record.

The KSW welterweight championship was most recently held by Roberto Soldic, who departed the promotion and jumped to ONE Championship last year. Previously, UFC standout Dricus Du Plessis, currently competing as a middleweight, also held the title.

In the co-main event of KSW 81, heavyweight action saw kickboxer Errol Zimmerman taking on Tomasz Sarara. While Zimmerman had competed under the promotional banner last year, the bout was a “special rules” contest still firmly on the striking side of things. The fight with Sarara, however, would be Zimmerman’s first MMA action since 2008.

KSW 81 takes place on Saturday, April 22, 2023, airing via KSWTV.com. Full results can be found below.

Ruchala and Eskiev will be vying for interim gold, and an opportunity to face Salahdine Parnasse somewhere down the line, presumably, while he moonlights in the promotion’s lightweight division.

Also in action on Friday’s card, British UFC veteran Tom Breese. Breese, 1-1 under the KSW banner and 3-1 since exiting the UFC, had been paired up with Bartosz Lesko in the evening’s co-main event. Breese had a three-fight win streak snapped in his last outing when he was stopped by fellow UFC alum Paweł Pawlak.

KSW 80 takes place at the Hala RCS Sport in Lublin, Poland on Friday, March 17, 2023 and streams live via KSWTV.com. Full results from the event, kicking off at 2PM ET, can be found below.
